General information on avoiding parking tickets

Avoiding tickets is not hard at all, You simply just follow the rules and you will be ok. Generally there are certain places you just cannot park during the day. They are:

- Double yellow
- Double red
- Red lines *
- yellow lines *
- Zigzag
- not properly parked in a bay
- Bus lane during peak hours
- Parking on a predistrain crossing
- Cycle or tramway
- In parking bays that are reserved .ie disabled, amulances etc
- Residential parking during no parking hours
- On pavement unless allowed

Do not park with one wheel on the curb unless you are allowed to by clear signs showing this.
Never park in areas where the signs are unclear or if you are not sure if its ok to park

Pay and display
Make sure you park correctly and your vehicle is clearly within the road markings. When paying for your ticket make sure you have the correct change, and that the time payed for is the time shown on the ticket.
Display this clearly so that it can be seen by the passing traffic warden so you are not penalised and issued a ticket.

Make sure you are aware of the time your tickets expires at all times

If a meter is out of order you are sometimes allowed to park but this is not always the case so be aware of this.

* Check sign post for parking restrictions
