A COUPLE'S £80 parking fine has been overturned after an independent adjudicator ruled there was "a strong possibility" the details of the ticket had been made up.
Terence and Crystal Huth now want Barking and Dagenham Council to apologise and take action against the warden who issued the ticket in Manning Road, Dagenham, on June 28 last year.
Mrs Huth said: "This attendant should not have a job - we want something out of this because they've put us through months of stress. We've been waiting to see if the council would apologise but there's been nothing at all."
The couple were shocked when the ticket was issued against Mr Huth's Citroen van because at the time he was in Hornchurch for a physiotherapy appointment.
Appealing to the council, they provided a letter from the physio confirming that Mr Huth had been at the appointment - but their case was denied.
Undeterred, they continued their fight, and in January an adjudicator from the Parking and Traffic Appeals Service threw out the £80 fine.
